Generating International Characters
You can generate international characters with an AlphaGrip using the “shortcuts” listed in the charts below. For Windows users, click here for a chart of shortcuts to common international characters. Mac users click here. Please note that these shortcuts do not work in every application. Also, changing your computer’s language setting will not work with an AlphaGrip because it has fewer physical keys than a standard computer keyboard.
The most comprehensive international character encoding system, which works in numerous applications and on all the most common operating systems, is maintained by The Unicode® Consortium. Here’s a link to a chart of the more common codes. To generate an international character, just type the code followed by Alt+x (Option+x on a Mac).
